Australian women are on top of the medal tally at the Olympics.

Interesting.

Who'll be doing that tonight, I wonder.

Being on top that is ... hold on, aren't they all asleep?

I don't know. Seems there's a lot I don't know nowadays.

Since this was supposed to be humour day, I gave it my best shot.

I also gave it a shot in my writing class for today.

What was that rib tickling piece of information, you ask.

Glad to oblige.

I was writing about a warm, fuzzy piece of prose about my childhood.

And I remembered ...

The good old days

When all I had to worry about

Was having fun

Looking forward to bagging a good seat on the school bus

To cold milk in the mornings that had been heated by the sun

I loved my how my mum would leave steaming hot fish and chips

Wrapped in grease-soaked paper

That would cause everyone who walked by and pause

To sniff the flavoursome air

I felt so special knowing it was my

Lunch they were smelling

And that soon, mum would pick me up

And we would eat salty fish and chips on the beach

Throwing our scraps to that one-legged seagull

Laughing as mum squealed when they came too close.

(My mum hates salty seagulls … all live birds come to that)

Funny how my father also has a hatred of chickens

The dead variety that is

(He would not dream of eating a yummy roasted, sweet smelling chicken)

(My dad was once served chicken by people who didn’t know him. Twice!

Entrée and main.

But I digress

Because the days mum would come and pick just me up

And not my brother or sister

Just me

I still can’t imagine anything better than that

Does anyone like that? You could email; me (hint hint) and let me know or you could also help me out by sending a shout out to Andrew to resurrect the old Mangoes entries so I can link back to some of them.

Aha. The secret is out. So go back and visit Mangoes for me to get me back on top of Google.

And add Rantan to your favourites and do me another favour.

Enough favours for today.

Now write on my hand. Remember to pick R up from E's house, Ring E, buy D and email that lovely lady about her brilliant paper.

PS Remember to go to prac.

PSS Remember to take morning tea.

PSSS Remember to take R's shoes to J and Ks.

Remember to email G.

Hope to remember all my new secret code names.

Welcome back to any old readers and a cheers to any new ones.

Remember our new prayer for lunch.

Thanking you, God

Love T aka Mangoes
